Here's a very informative post by Nubby Twiglet about "Choosing your blogging masterminds."
I will be participating in the stylist listings provided by Lauren Rennells author of Vintage Hairstyling: Retro styles with step-by-step techniques. You may want to recommend that your own favorite vintage hairstylist do the same.
"100 reasons to love yourself, right now" by Gala Darling is an inspirational read. I think I will print it out and post it on my bathroom mirror as an every day reminder.
Scott Schuman of The Sartorialist is holding a vintage photo contest. Here's one of my faves.

Peek-A-Boo
For this installment of Peek-A-Boo I would like to speak about the language of a haircut according to Clive and Co. Each salon 's culture may vary and thus so will the language. What equals graduation in one salon isn't always the same in another. To simplify, here are two of our personal V.I.P Rules of hairdressing:
1. When hair is cut shorter, it becomes stronger.
2. Hair always falls to it's longest or heaviest point.

Hair Play: The Perfect Bob

While I enjoy researching specialty styling techniques from days gone by, I must admit what truly holds my attention are classic cuts. When done on the correct type of hair these cuts require minimal styling. By minimal I mean no sleeping in pincurls at night, no curling irons, hot rollers, etc. My first love was the bob. What other haircut has fallen in our good graces every decade since the 1920's I ask you?
It has a timeless appeal that somehow simultaneously nods toward the past and respects our modern sensibilities.
The bobs pictured here are as follows:
Louise Brooks
Keely Smithy
Nancy Kwan
Christina Ricci
Ranging from the 1920's to present day.

Wish List
Right now, I am wishing there was an easier way to break in my Willits saddle shoes. Someone actually recommended that I put them under my car tire and gently roll it over them. I am tempted. I also wish my family would stop falling prey to illnesses and injuries, we can't seem to get ahead.Anthropologie is really causing some wistful sighs on their latest selection of dresses and sweaters. Too numerous to list!
So the next few days will find me cleaning closets, tackling laundry, nursing the sick and injured all while wearing my saddle shoes.
